Financial Aid
Brentwood School is committed to developing students capable of lifelong contributions to our diverse society. To fulfill this objective, the school welcomes and offers tuition assistance to qualified students from various socio-economic, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds who would not otherwise be able to attend the school. Three million dollars have been budgeted for financial aid for the 2007-2008 school year, thereby allowing the school to provide financial aid awards to more than 140 students. An additional $200,000 has been budgeted to reimburse financial aid families for various school expenses such as books, retreat fees, the transportation program, field trips, and school supplies. These expenses, some of which need prior approval, are reimbursed based on a progressive schedule tied to the student’s award percentage.
Brentwood School operates a need-blind admissions policy, which means that a family's application for financial aid will have no bearing on its student's chances for admission. All financial aid documents and deliberations are held in the strictest confidence.
How to Apply
Families applying for admission indicate their intention to apply for financial aid either by submitting the Financial Aid Request Form online, or by completing and submitting to the Brentwood School Business Office the form located in the Admissions application.
Current families reapplying for financial aid for the next school year will receive a financial aid packet from the Business Office in fall. Current families new to the financial aid process can request a financial aid packet from the Business Office by December 1 (for the following school year) by contacting Zita Hernandez at 310.889.2653 or submitting a request online. An outline of various deadline dates during the application process is included in this packet.
