Food Services

Brentwood School is committed to providing a nutritionally healthy environment in which students are encouraged to practice lifelong healthy eating and exercise habits. The school is committed to providing high-quality, well-balanced food choices at lunch, in the snack bar, at special events, and in the vending machines and to providing age appropriate food options for students in each division. The school also recognizes the importance of nutrition education as an important aspect of the curriculum.

To achieve this nutritional commitment, the school has taken steps to

  • Pay attention to presentation
  • Emphasize high-quality food with good nutritional value
  • Provide a pleasant and timely eating experience
  • Emphasize fresh ingredients
  • Pay attention to the USDA daily recommended guidelines for specific age groups
  • Recognize the importance of food safety
  • Make healthy food and drink options to students and employees at all times during the school day
  • Publicize food and drink offerings weekly on the school's web site.

Specific recommendations were made by the Nutrition/Food Committee concerning foods provided at lunch, in the snack bars, in the campus vending machines, and at special events. These recommendations can be found in the committee’s final report, a copy of which is located in the Business Office.
