THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN BRENTWOOD'S LOWER SCHOOL. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE THE APPLICATION PROCESS INDIVIDUALIZED, PERSONAL, AND AS RELAXED AS POSSIBLE.

Kindergarten

TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION, APPLICANTS MUST TURN FIVE YEARS OLD BY JULY 1, 2017. PLEASE COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Please submit the Inquiry Form. Once our Admissions Office has received your inquiry, we will send you our viewbook.
  2. Attend a Parent Open House. We enjoy sharing our school and encourage families to attend an Open House to become more familiar with us and the programs we offer.
  3. Complete the 2017-18 Online Application. The sibling, alumni, and employee application deadline is Friday, September 9, 2016. The general deadline is Friday, October 14, 2016.
  4. Attend a parent interview and tour. After your application has been processed, Joy Sevillano, our Admissions Administrative Assistant, will contact you to schedule your interview with Adrienne Agena, Mary Beth Barry, or Tamyra Fuller.
  5. Student Visitation and Assessment Day: After you have completed your parent interview, Joy will contact you via email with your child’s assigned date.
  6. Distribute the Preschool Evaluation Form to your current school by Friday, December 16, 2016. If your child is currently attending a Kindergarten program, please submit the Current Teacher's Report and the Transcript Request Form instead of the Preschool Form. These forms are confidential and should be returned directly to Brentwood School by Friday, January 6, 2017.
  7. Visit the Affording Brentwood School information page to help answer any questions regarding financial aid.
  8. Decisions letters are emailed on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Parents must reply by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017.
  9. Communication: We ask parents to please provide a reliable email address that is checked frequently, as email has proven to be a quick and efficient way to answer your questions and to send confirmations and reminder notices throughout the admissions process. Also, we will use email to notify families about decisions on Friday, March 17, 2017. Should your email change, please be sure to inform Joy at jsevillano@bwscampus.com so that we may update your file.

6th Grade

  3. Complete the 2017-18 Online Application. The 6th Grade application deadline is Friday, November 18, 2016.
  4. Attend a Parent-Student Interview and Tour. After your application has been processed, Joy Sevillano, our Admissions Administrative Assistant, will contact you to schedule an interview with Adrienne Agena, Mary Beth Barry, or Tamyra Fuller for parents and your 6th Grade applicant.
  5. Distribute the Current Teacher Report to your current school. Your current teacher must complete and return this form by Friday, January 6, 2017.
  6. Distribute the Transcript Request Form to your current school. Please have an authorized official at your school complete, sign, and return this form by email to jsevillano@bwscampus.com by Friday, January 6, 2017. Please include complete report cards, including grades K-5 and 1st semester of grade 6, and all standardized test scores.
  7. Register for the ISEE Exam. Applicants are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam. In order for us to receive the scores by the Friday, January 6, 2017 deadline, students must take the exam no later than December 2016. Our school code is 051555.

Relocating Families: Grades K-6

Due to limited openings in Grades 1-5, we are only able to accept applications from families relocating to Los Angeles. Out of state and non-local applications will be accepted from August 1, 2016 through July 1, 2017.

To submit an application, please complete the following:

  1. Please submit the Inquiry Form. Once our Admissions Office has received your inquiry, we will send you our viewbook.
  2. Attend a Parent Open House. We enjoy sharing our school and encourage families to attend an Open House to become more familiar with us and the programs we offer.
  3. Complete the 2017-18 Online Application.
  4. A School Visit by parents and child is required; however, a child does not have to attend the initial visit. Please make arrangements for your visit with our Admissions Administrative Assistant, Joy Sevillano at (310) 889-2812.
  5. For Kindergarten applicants, distribute the Preschool Evaluation Form to your current school by Friday, January 6, 2017.
  6. Please submit the Current Teacher's Report to your current school.
  7. Please submit the Transcript Request Form to your current school. Please have an authorized official at your school complete, sign, and return this form by email to jsevillano@bwscampus.com by Friday, January 6, 2017. Please include complete report cards, including grades K-6, and all standardized test scores.
  8. Schedule testing of your child (on campus or at your present school). Out of state applicants must provide the name and telephone number of the administrator who will proctor the test. Students entering grades 5 and 6 are required to complete the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Our school code is 051555.
