Statement of Philosophy for Athletics:

Brentwood School believes that physical education and athletics complement and enrich the academic experience and are integral to every student’s education and personal growth. To that end, we offer a comprehensive Kindergarten through 12th grade physical education curriculum and a wide array of interscholastic athletics in order to foster a love of sport and a life-long commitment to health and fitness. We view coaches as teachers and the fields and courts as extensions of the classroom. We encourage our students to participate and to strive for excellence. The school seeks to produce highly competitive teams and prizes character, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

The three pillars of Brentwood Athletics are: Character • Sportsmanship • Teamwork

History of Athletics Program:

The athletics program at Brentwood School has grown by tremendously since its humble beginnings with the school's inception in 1972. From an initial menu of only eight sports, the athletics department has developed into a top-notch high school program that is staffed by six full-time employees who help to recruit, train, and support an impressive coaching staff. With this explosion of new teams, a need for new facilities became clear. In the past 20 years, Brentwood has built state-of-the art facilities that allow students to compete at the highest levels.
