Lower Division: K-6
A week in the life of a Brentwood Lower Division student is enriched and filled with numerous opportunities to pursue a passion or discover a new interest. Brentwood really does believe in developing the “whole child,” promoting both intellectual and personal growth.
Our Community of Caring program includes Friday class meetings and monthly assemblies focused on our core values. It is through these conversations that students develop their understanding of how personal choices result in consequences, both good and bad. Classroom celebrations make learning fun as students demonstrate what they have learned during a unit of study in an exciting and non-traditional way. After-school activities enhance each child’s school experience while promoting a sense of community. Children participate in a wide variety of activities such as sports, theater, chess, cooking, or running club oftentimes with students from other grades.
In addition, we are well staffed to provide for students’ learning needs and developmental challenges. Students and parents are guided and supported in these areas by our learning specialist and school counselor.
Service learning is also an integral part of each child’s experience. In every grade students learn to give of themselves by taking part in a range of activities and discussions that transport them beyond the classroom walls into our Los Angeles community.
Each day is filled with vibrant new opportunities and challenges. Children learn from and with one another as they discover that learning is not limited to the core subjects…it takes place every moment of every day!
