Brentwood School believes that physical education and athletics complement and enrich the academic experience and are integral to every student’s education and personal growth. To that end, we offer a comprehensive 7th through 12th Grade physical education curriculum and a wide array of interscholastic athletics in order to foster a love of sport and a life-long commitment to health and fitness. We view coaches as teachers and the fields and courts as extensions of the classroom. We encourage our students to participate and to strive for excellence. The school seeks to produce highly competitive teams and prizes character, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

Five Seniors were acknowledged in a special ceremony on National Letter of Intent Day, Wednesday, November 14. This day is set aside every year by the National Letter of Intent (NLI) branch of the NCAA to acknowledge the binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution. A prospective student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters) and the institution agrees to provide athletics financial aid for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters). While there may be more Brentwood student-athletes who commit to play collegiate sports in the coming months, the Athletic Department took this opportunity to honor these five and formally thank them for representing Brentwood School so well over the course of their high school careers. And we wish them well as they pursue success at the collegiate level! Jackie Bowman (Volleyball) - Boston College Leland King (Basketball) - Brown University* T.J. Pura (Tennis) - Duke University Nick Steinfeld (Lacrosse) - Bucknell University Garrett Swanky (Football) - Brown University* *Brown University does not participate in the NLI, but King and Swanky have verbally committed to the basketball and football coaches at Brown, respectively.
