Brentwood School believes that physical education and athletics complement and enrich the academic experience and are integral to every student’s education and personal growth. To that end, we offer a comprehensive 7th through 12th Grade physical education curriculum and a wide array of interscholastic athletics in order to foster a love of sport and a life-long commitment to health and fitness. We view coaches as teachers and the fields and courts as extensions of the classroom. We encourage our students to participate and to strive for excellence. The school seeks to produce highly competitive teams and prizes character, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Our Middle School Girls Soccer team defeated Crossroads on Friday, February 6, in the Pacific Basin League Championship, winning 3-2 in overtime. The Brentwood girls had battled all season long against various opponents and lost to Crossroads earlier in the season, 4-1. In the finals, the team found themselves down 0-2 at the half, but goals scored by Maddie G. and Daniella W. tied it up in the last 10 minutes of regular time pushing the game into overtime. With time ending in overtime, Ava D. scored the game winning goal!! Congratulations to our girls on a terrific season!!

According to Hilbert, "Brentwood School has never had an official Fight Song for pep rallies and sporting events. So this past year Jordan came up with the lyrics and melody, and then approached me to help him with the arrangement and with producing the song..."

Time and time again, whenever I interview one of our coaches, I find that there is at least one constant regardless of the sport they coach: they are all so glad to be here. Coaching at Brentwood is obviously a great position to hold, despite the pressures of leading a group of teenagers through the ups and downs of winning, losing, and playing the game. My interview with Coach Jake Ford was no different. Despite the monumentally large shoes he had to fill in replacing the long-standing and much-beloved Patrick Brown, who held the position for 35 years, Ford could not be happier and calls the transition from Middle School football to Varsity a dream come true...
