Part-Time Middle School Film/Yearbook Teacher

Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for a part time (50%) Middle School film and yearbook teacher, to begin in the Fall of 2018. We are looking for individuals from the film industry, independent, public, private, or charter schools, with experience in screenwriting, film production, editing and instruction.

It is expected that a successful candidate would:

  • Teach four semester courses (two each semester) of Middle School Film
  • Teach one semester course (fall semester) of Middle School Yearbook
  • Make filmmaking and yearbook courses meaningful and relevant by inspiring students
  • Communicate with students and parents as necessary
  • Revise and plan new curriculum in conjunction with other members of the arts department
  • Coordinate with the Upper School yearbook advisor
  • Incorporate educational technology throughout instruction and course work
  • Perform additional duties, such as advising an activity and chaperoning events, as needed
