Upper School Drawing and Composition
Upper School Drawing and Composition students work on a variety of projects to hone their creative thinking and technical skills in a range of materials and media. Short skill-building exercises culminate in a series of larger individualized final projects. From portraiture and the human figure, to landscapes and still life, students are challenged to bring their individual creative voice to each of the traditional drawing and painting genres.

Self Portrait in Objects
The art elements of line and shape can be used to express the things we hold most dear. In this project, Drawing I students explored symbolism and carefully selected objects that represented facets of their past, their present, and their future. They studied composition and still life paintings before composing their items into a Self Portrait in Objects using only line.
