31st Annual Young Alumni Luncheon
by Emily Ellis ’94, Director of Alumni Engagement

For the past three decades, the BWS Alumni Office has invited college-age alumni back to campus around the holiday season to visit with seniors, faculty, and staff at the Young Alumni Luncheon. The purpose of the event is not only to reconnect and learn about our young alumni’s lives post Brentwood, but also to celebrate our soon-to-be alumni, the senior class of 2022, and kick off their final semester at Brentwood School.

We were indeed worried about possible cancellation with the current COVID-19 surge, but were gratefully able to move forward with the event by following the school’s protocols of verifying negative COVID tests, vaccination cards, and masking up. Although the event looked slightly different than in years past, we safely hosted the luncheon outside, and the food from the In-N-Out truck still tasted incredible!

There was understandably a much lighter alumni turnout than in past years, but we were thrilled to host this long-standing event once more, maintaining a meaningful Alumni Association tradition.

Before the luncheon, Flor M. Cruz, Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement, and I met with the senior class in the theater to share the highlights of joining our Alumni Association once they graduate in June. We are excited to welcome the Class of 2022 as part of our dynamic alumni community in a few months and so very thankful that this milestone event was able to happen as scheduled!
