Over Spring Break, both the Middle School and BCIL Fabrication Labs went to work responding to the USC Keck and Cedars Sinai Hospitals' call for personal protective equipment. The 3D printers from both labs were churning out hospital-approved face masks and face shield brackets that can be sanitized and reused. The masks accept a replaceable filter. These were delivered to CrashSpaceLA, a community-focused "hackerspace" that mobilized builders and makers from across the city to help meet the hospitals' demand. We also donated all the unused N95 masks, face shields, and safety glasses from our workshop. It is the least we could do to help the healthcare workers who are on the frontlines.
