Brentwood Students Advance in International Entrepreneurship Competition
by Dr. Josh Berger, Director, Belldegrun Center for Innovative Leadership

Four Brentwood School teams advanced to the finals of the World Series of Innovation (WSI), an international competition involving thousands of youth aged 13-24 focused on innovations related to the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Submissions come from dozens of countries and virtually every US State.

Several of our students receiving this honor were finalists in our own BCIL Innovation Challenge last month for ideas related to water conservation, supporting small businesses, and generating sustainable electricity (see below). Another Brentwood finalist, Sienna N. ’23, previously won a BCIL Challenge in 8th Grade for her idea to increase resident voice in community development projects and has since worked on her proposal with the Mayor’s offices in both San Francisco and Los Angeles.

By advancing to the championship of the World Series of Innovation, each of our students followed up on their written submissions and generated one-minute videos for their respective ideas. Thank you again to all of our students that participated in this year’s WSI and congratulations to the finalists!
