Our Middle School mathematicians are busy! Each week, about 35 of our brightest math minds meet to compete against hundreds of other schools in the Math Madness tournament. This bracket-style competition, which began in early October, is team-based and live-scoring. Our students compete against schools across the country, showing up at lunch every Wednesday to solve high-level math and logic problems. As one of our talented competitors, Ariel F. says, “The questions usually make us think outside the box. Solving them is extremely satisfying.”
We are extremely proud of our students’ commitment, willingness to take on a challenge, and of their success. In fact, as of this writing, our Brentwood Middle School Math Competition Team has advanced to the Final Four!
Though the energy is high and the math problems are formidable, the atmosphere in the Math Competition Club is laid back and supportive. Jayme P. ’27 recently noted that “competing in Math Madness competitions with my friends and community is a lot of fun. I enjoy challenging my brain and practicing math problems in an environment that encourages making mistakes when learning."
Congratulations to all of our Mathletes. Fly Eagles Fly!
