Congratulations to Amelia S. ’27, Ramsey S. ’27, and Haley S. ’27 for winning the BCIL Space Impact Challenge! Students were asked to identify a challenge related to expanded space exploration and propose a solution. This team designed an improved space suit to address the challenge of space radiation, and the judging team was blown away by the amount of research and creativity in their written proposal. Watch a brief video of their pitch.
This Brentwood team joins Carmen E.’23 from Innsbruck, Austria, as winners of the challenge. Carmen’s entry aimed to reduce the environmental impact of the space sector through additional research and collaboration among leading institutions. As the winners of the BCIL Impact Challenge, these teams will enjoy a special experience facilitated by the BCIL next semester that includes connecting with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and meeting with experts in the field.
Please join us in congratulating these students on their amazing work!
