Brentwood School is an independent K-12 coed day school with two campuses, located four blocks apart, in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Our school community is shaped and enhanced by students who live in about 90 different zip code areas and come from over 140 different schools. Fifteen percent of our families benefit from financial assistance. The West Campus (Grades K-6) is currently 35% students of color, and the East Campus (Grades 7-12) is 34% students of color.

  1. Complete the 2019-20 Online Application. You may also return to this application portal to review the status of your application.
    • To begin our online application, please click on the link above and select the blue “Create Account” link to create a username and password. After entering your basic information, select the “Create Account” button.
    • Our system may recognize you by your email address. If the system recognizes your email address, your email address will be highlighted in red after you press “Submit”. If this occurs, select the "Forgot Login?" button. You will then be prompted to enter your email address to receive an automatic reply containing your username and password. Once you receive your username and password, you will have access to complete the online application.
    • Please complete the Parent/Guardian Section and have your child complete the Student Section of the online application. We will consider your application complete once you have submitted the application fee. You will have the option of paying by credit card, electronic check, or selecting the fee waiver option for families applying for financial assistance.
  2. After our Admissions Office processes your online application and the application fee, we will contact you to schedule your interview and tour. The interview and tour are for parent(s)/guardian(s) and student(s) and take place during school hours.
  3. Download and distribute the following transcript request and recommendation forms to your child’s school. Note: Forms may be returned by email ( or by post. Return envelopes are included in the admissions packet for your convenience.
  4. RSVP for a Parent/Guardian Open House.
  5. RSVP for a Student Open House.
  6. Register for the ISEE. We require each applicant to take the Independent School Entrance Exam, the common admissions test accepted by over 30 independent schools in the Los Angeles area. We ask that applicants take the ISEE no later than Saturday, January 12, 2019. Please release your child’s ISEE score report to Brentwood School no later than Friday, January 18, 2019. Our school code is 051555.

Decision Notification

We will release decisions to families of students applying to Grades 6 through 8 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) on March 15, 2019. Families of Middle School applicants will have until March 25, 2019 to enroll in the grade to which they have been accepted.

Communication: We ask parents/guardians to please provide a reliable email address that is checked frequently, as email has proven to be a quick and efficient way to answer your questions and to send confirmations and reminder notices throughout the admissions process. Should your email change, please be sure to inform us so that we may update your file.
