Brentwood School is an independent K-12 coed day school with two campuses, located four blocks apart, in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Our school community is shaped and enhanced by students who live in about 90 different zip code areas and come from over 140 different schools. Fifteen percent of our families benefit from financial assistance. The West Campus (Grades K-6) is currently 35% students of color, and the East Campus (Grades 7-12) is 34% students of color.

Relocating Grades: 1-5

Due to limited openings in Grades 1-5, we are only able to accept applications from families relocating to Los Angeles.

To submit an application, please complete the following:

  1. Please submit the Inquiry Form. Once our Admissions Office has received your inquiry, we will send you our current Viewbook.
  2. Complete the 2019-2020 Online Application. You may also return to this application portal to review the status of your application.
    • To begin our online application, please click on the link above and select the blue “Create Account” link to create a username and password. After entering your basic information, select the “Create Account” button.
    • Our system may recognize you by your email address. If the system recognizes your email address, your email address will be highlighted in red after you press “Submit”. If this occurs, select the "Forgot Login?" button. You will then be prompted to enter your email address to receive an automatic reply containing your username and password. Once you receive your username and password, you will have access to complete the online application.

  3. A School Visit by parents and child is required. Please make arrangements for your visit with our Admissions Office at, or at (310) 889-2812.
  4. Please submit the Current Teacher's Report to your current school.
  5. Please submit the Transcript Request Form to your current school. Please have an authorized official at your school complete, sign, and return this form by email to Please include complete report cards, including grades K-5, and all standardized test scores.
  6. Schedule testing of your child (on campus or at your present school). Out of state applicants must provide the name and telephone number of the administrator who will proctor the test. Students entering grades 5 and 6 are required to complete the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Our school code is 051555.
  7. Visit the Affording Brentwood School information page to help answer any questions regarding financial assistance.

We will release decisions for the 2019-2020 school year on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Families of relocating applicants will have until March 25, 2019 to enroll.

Communication: We ask parents/guardians to please provide a reliable email address that is checked frequently, as email has proven to be a quick and efficient way to answer your questions and to send confirmations and reminder notices throughout the admissions process. Should your email change, please be sure to inform us so that we may update your file.
