Bring your own MacBook Program (BYOM)

All 6th-12th Grade students participate in our technology initiative, the 1:1 Bring Your Own MacBook (BYOM) Program, where every incoming student is required to have a MacBook for daily use on campus.

All 6th-12th Grade students participate in our technology initiative, the 1:1 Bring Your Own MacBook (BYOM) Program. This requires them to have a MacBook for daily use on campus.

MacBooks are a useful tool for students to complete their work in and out of the classroom. They also allow teachers to work with students in class to meet the educational technology goals of our program. Whether using their MacBook to access a digital textbook, collaborate with peers, conduct research, or code in a computer science class, MacBooks are versatile and enrich the students’ learning experience.

For the 2023-2024 school year, families of students entering 6th or 7th Grades or new to Brentwood School have the opportunity to purchase a MacBook through the school's lease to own program. Brentwood School offers a purchase program where families may pay for the computer over an 8-month period, interest free. When opting for the school's MacBook Purchase Program, students will receive a 2022, 13" MacBook Air with 8GB RAM and a 256GB hard drive.

We strongly encourage purchasing your student’s new MacBook through Brentwood School since it also includes a 3-year Apple Care+ for Schools warranty (see below) only available through school purchases.

Students receiving financial support will purchase their MacBook through Brentwood School and receive the same discount percentage that is outlined in their financial support agreement and the 3-year Apple Care+ for Schools warranty.

(We highly recommend leveling up your MacBook warranty to the 3-year AppleCare+ for damage coverage.  The current Education Store cost is $197. )

For the 2023-2024 school year, students will need a MacBook with a minimum of the following:

  • 2020 or newer

  • at least 8GB Ram

  • at least 256GB Hard drive

  • able to run MacOS Ventura - 12.5
