MacBook Program

All 7th-12th Grade students participate in our technology initiative, the 1:1 Bring Your Own MacBook (BYOM) Program, where every incoming student is required to have a MacBook for daily use on campus.
MacBooks are not only a useful tool for students on a personal level, as they complete their work in and out of the classroom, but they also allow teachers to work with students in class to meet the educational technology goals of our students. Whether using their MacBook to access a digital textbook, collaborate with peers in creating a project, conduct research in multiple windows at the same time, or write code in a computer science class, MacBooks are versatile and capable of enriching the students’ learning experience.

Every summer, families of students entering 7th or 10th Grade or new to Brentwood School have the opportunity to purchase a MacBook through the school's lease to own program. Detailed information about this program is sent to families in June. (6th Grade students will be provided a school-owned MacBook to use for the year.)

Students receiving financial support will purchase their MacBook through Brentwood School and receive the same discount percentage that is outlined in their financial aid agreement.

(We highly recommend leveling up your MacBook warranty to the 3-year AppleCare+ for damage coverage.  The current Education Store cost is $197. )

For the 2022-2023 school year, students will need a MacBook with a minimum of the following:

  • 2019 or newer

  • at least 8GB Ram

  • at least 256GB Hard drive

  • able to run MacOS Monterey - 12.5
