5th and 6th Graders Get an Insider's Look at Their New Building

by Shirley Blake, Director of Communications

Donning hard hats and bright orange vests, the 5th and 6th graders and their teachers had the opportunity to walk through the construction site for a first glimpse of the building they will soon occupy. With a giant crane overhead, the students carefully walked through the parking garage under the building and then ascended the stairs to what will be the second floor. Director of Facilities Victor Pesiri and members of the construction team explained all of the activity happening around them on the site, and shared the next phases of the project. Many students commented on how big the building felt from the inside, and other had a hard time picturing a football field on top of a parking garage! It was a great experience to watch their excited expressions as they visualized their future classrooms and learning spaces. Clearly they can't wait to move in!
