Film Program Thriving in the Upper School
Film Program Thriving in the Upper School

by Adam Preskill, Upper School Film Teacher

The Upper School Film Studio has been buzzing with enthusiasm this semester thanks to the arrival of the second generation of Brentwood film students. With the program now marking its 5th year in the Upper School, the first group of students to move through the four-semester progression of filmmaking courses have gone off to colleges (and film schools!) across the country, opening the door for the next wave of beginner students. This fall also saw the addition of a third section of Film I to the schedule to accommodate more students, many of them freshmen trying film for the first time, and our YouTube channel, BWS Eaglevision, is bursting with content with more than 30 original narrative shorts now online and a host of documentaries and experimental films still to come before the end of the semester. We also look forward to welcoming parents and other community members to our second annual Student Film Showcase in the East Campus Theater on Monday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m.
