Institutional Goals for Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racist Work

  • Establish and maintain a permanent DEI committee on the Board of Trustees and determine its composition and purpose.

  • Create a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Action Plan.

  • Review school policies and procedures for bias or limited access for POC, marginalized groups, and financial support families.

  • Identify and implement ways to make admissions to Brentwood more accessible to student applicants of color.

  • Develop a more diverse and inclusive curriculum, both in what and how we teach.

  • Develop a robust DEI Dashboard that includes a range of data.

  • Research the development of an annual survey instrument for Equity and Inclusion to be used with both students and adults.

  • Create ongoing professional development and education programs in the areas of equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.

  • Develop a culture where more people (students and adults) feel comfortable and secure in reporting incidents.

  • Support the ongoing training of trustees and DEI Committee members in the area of DEI/Anti-Racism.

  • Evaluate the prominence and transparency of DEI objectives throughout school communications.
