Institutional Goals for Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racist Work

  • Utilize the DEI committee of the Board to support the ongoing training of trustees in the area of DEI/Anti-racism.

  • Through an inclusive process, create a 5-year plan that informs the Institutional Goals, encompasses 1, 3 and 5 year goals for DEI/Anti-Racist Work, and frames the entire process in a positive light with a  focus on improvement and growth.

  • Strengthen existing and develop new programming, events, and resources that support our BIPOC students, faculty, staff, alumni, and families.

  • Create a culture in which critical feedback is seen and experienced as a catalyst for professional and personal growth.

  • Use institutional data and relevant research to inform decisions and track progress towards a more equitable experience for all constituents, particularly members of underrepresented groups.

  • Ensure all faculty, staff, and administrators have a directed and personalized plan for meaningful and substantive growth in the sphere of equity and inclusion, both individually and collectively, in order to increase faculty/staff commitment to DEI work.

  • Involve parents and guardians in ongoing growth and development in the areas of DEI and antiracism, and create an education plan for how to best communicate the “why” of this work for our Brentwood community.
