We invite you to explore campus events, discover unique GrandEagle opportunities, and remain a vital part of the Brentwood community and legacy.

Ways to Engage

We invite you to deepen your involvement through meaningful opportunities such as:

GrandEagles play a special role in Brentwood milestones, sharing in the pride and joy that accompany student achievements and the moments that unite our community. From performances and athletic traditions to Commencement, grandparents are warmly welcomed to campus as we celebrate these important chapters together.

Connect with Other GrandEagles

Join fellow GrandEagles at events throughout the year to build connections, share experiences, and celebrate a shared love for Brentwood School.

Lower School Grandparents and Special Friends Days

Each spring, West Campus welcomes GrandEagles and special friends for two joyful days of performances and classroom activities.  During their visit, GrandEagles enjoy a glimpse into the daily life of our Lower School students, celebrating the learning, creativity, and community that define the Brentwood experience.

Newsworthy Stories

Rare Honor: Two Coca-Cola Scholarships

Brentwood proudly has two Coca-Cola Scholars, rare for many schools, out of over 107,000 applicants. Seniors Eric G. and JoJo F. joined 150 students recognized nationally for excellence, leadership, and service. Coca-Cola calls scholars “change agents." At Brentwood, they collaborated through BCIL to create water-saving showers, head injury prevention aids, and an EEG robot for mobility, winning first at the LA Science Fair. Despite working together since 7th grade, they didn't know each was applying. Congratulations, JoJo and Eric!

Congressional Recognition for Student's Medical Research

Shay B. ’26 was awarded a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition by Brad Sherman for his research aimed at enhancing the patient experience in physical therapy. His four-month investigation at two hospitals in Los Angeles focused on AI-based “markerless motion capture" technology to analyze movement. Shay has presented his findings at medical conferences, published in Becker's Hospital Review, and has a manuscript currently under review by a Mayo Clinic journal. Congratulations, Shay!

Junior Testifies in Sacramento

Aerin C. ’27 testified before the California State Assembly Judiciary Committee supporting bills to restrict social media access for kids under 16 and address off-campus cyberbullying. Motivated by her own cyberbullying experience, she advocates passionately, writes, speaks, and hosts the “CTRL it” podcast. Kudos to her for transforming a negative experience into a fight for online safety.

Seven Artists Win Scholastic Recognition

The art works of Upper School students have been recognized with a Scholastic Art & Writing Award. Silver Keys were awarded to Skylar J. ’28, Alexis P. ’29, and Liam S. ’28 in the Ceramics & Glass category. Honorable mentions in Ceramics & Glass went to Avery K. ’28, Miles T. ’29, and Joshua W. ’29, while Leo M. ’29 won an honorable mention in Sculpture. The works, according to Scholastic, were recognized for "outstanding merit in originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice and vision."

Teaching Music to Children of Veterans

About a year ago, Josi S. ’27 presented an idea to the Director of Veteran Education, Dr. Susie Lyons: offer free music lessons to children and grandchildren of Veterans, with Brentwood students teaching. Friday was the children’s first “Songbird” recital: five children played a variety of tunes on the keyboard, and one six-year-old (the youngest student) sang a solo. Congratulations to the performers on their first recital, to Josi for launching this inspiring project, and to the students who shared their musical skills: Josi, Sivan L. ’27, Amelia I. ’27, Callum B. ’29, Marlowe O. ’29, Will B. ’27, and Sebastian L. ’27.

Time to Play

The new West Campus playground is officially open! On opening day, students enjoyed a presentation by Lower School Director Mr. Spearn about the construction process, from demolition to final power washing, and had the chance to personally thank George and Juan, the team who oversaw the project. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Flag, they watched gleefully as a group of teachers took the first slide, then showed impressive patience and responsibility, waiting for recess to enjoy the new equipment.
