CITY POLL
CityPoll is an app to help residents stay informed and voice their opinions on rising policies and developments in their communities. It won second place in the World Series of Innovation for UN SDG #16 to promote peace, justice, and strong institutions! The platform empowers users to have a stake in their communities right from their phone by viewing and voting on local issues. CityPoll’s vision is to uplift all voices and drive us towards building cities with empathy and boosting social equity. Our feed and interactive map allow users to view, select, then vote and comment on rising policies and developments within their residential location.
The app constantly updates with fresh content. Users view, discuss, and vote. Developers post projects, receive, and deliberate on feedback. City governments give the green light to developers to start their projects. The more users participate, the more points get added to the “my voice” feature on their profile, which acts as an in-app clout system incentivizing users to participate.
The data from CityPoll is presented directly to city councils. Because technology is the wave of the future and CityPoll enables users to stay informed and provide feedback only on issues directly affecting them all from their phones, it’s effective and equitable. CityPoll will help lead Los Angeles and other cities in transitioning to equitable Smart Cities.
CityPoll is currently available for iOS and can be downloaded in the App Store. For more information, please visit citypoll.org
