Educational Technology

Recommended image size: 1340px wide by 610px tall

In this age of technological advances, reading and watching are just the beginning.

Welcome to the Brentwood School Educational Technology Support website. We integrate technology into everyday classroom experiences so students enjoy real interaction in real time. To this end, we require all students (6-12) to bring their own MacBook to School everyday. Our Educational Technology program allows students to explore beyond the classroom as they experiment with the latest programs, devices, online resources, and more. The Educational Technology Department works with our students from Kindergarten through 12th Grade to help them develop strategies which leverage technology to achieve their learning goals.

Technology in the learning environment

  • Kindergarten - 2nd Grade has 1:1 iPads for daily use
  • 3rd - 5th Grade has 1:1 Chromebooks for daily use.
  • 6th - 12th Grade students each bring their own MacBook

Brentwood School Students Become:

Creative Communicators

Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.

Computational Thinkers

Students develop and employ strategies for understanding and solving problems in ways that leverage the power of technological methods to develop and test solutions.

Innovative Designers

Students use a variety of technologies within a design process to identify and solve problems by creating new, useful or imaginative solutions.

Knowledge Constructors

Students critically curate a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts and make meaningful learning experiences for themselves and others.

Digital Citizens

Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical.

Global Collaborators

Students use digital tools to broaden their perspectives and enrich their learning by collaborating with others and working effectively in teams locally and globally.

Our K-12 Educational Technology program goals are drawn from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).

1:1 MacBook Program

Every incoming 6th-12th Grade student is required to have a MacBook for daily use on campus. These MacBooks are not only a useful tool to complete work in and out of the classroom, but they also allow teachers to work with students in class to meet the educational technology goals of our students. Whether using their MacBook to access a digital textbook, collaborate with peers in creating a project, conduct research in multiple windows at the same time, or write code in a computer science class, these MacBooks are versatile and capable of enriching the students’ learning experience.

For Fall 2024, (6 - 12) students will need a MacBook with a minimum of the following:
  • 2021 or newer
  • at least 8GB Ram
  • at least 256GB Hard drive
  • able to run MacOS Sonoma
